These boots are made for walkin.....

These boots are made for walkin............well Bungalow Bay is having some grand changes..........I have decided to close the brick and mortar division of my empire as I like to call it and will be focusing more time on doing shows that I have always loved and admired as well as getting back to some more online sales - I am sad/excited/nervous/hopeful and about a million other emotions but all in all Im really looking forward to spending a bit more time at home and being at the door with hot chocolate in hand as my 11 year old gets off the school bus :) - the official decision came last week and I have now started to tell my customers and WOW what a supportive bunch - they can all understand but are TRULY sad to see me go - I really had no idea how much the shop meant to so many as a little happy spot in their day so I will of course be referring to my blog and shows and hope to see them all out there! I had a fantastic visit with Debi from Ormolulu who came in yesterday afternoon - I gotta tell ya she is truly just so gracious and kind and I look forward to seeing her more "out there" - I also had a nice email conversation with MaryBeth at Poppyseeds (another very hard workin gal) I will be getting a new pic of her soon so I can do a post on what inspired me to blog............Thanks for all your support in my junkin family! xo

Arrrrggghhhhh................

Arrrrggghhhh.............I love pirate stuff! I unearthed this fantastic find in one of my outings and could not be happier - it is everything I find exciting in junkin' - A 1924 edition of Treasure Island that is just the right amount of crusty - The faded pink linen cover is perfect with fun illustrations - Considering visions of summertime are dancing in my head Im pretty sure this will be my first on the beach read........arrgghhh well I guess if Captain Jack Sparrow hand delivered it to me then that could have been better aaaaahhhh visions.............

Dwell in possibility.......

Dwell in possibility.............I am certainly one of those people that think anything is possible ~ well almost anything ~ but I of course have my comfort zones just like everyone else so when I set out to make a booth display that would be considered full and interesting for an antique show I stepped out of my comfort zone and put myself "out there" to be judged ~ insert shaky hand over enter key HERE ~ You see I am very confident in my abilities and don't often seek approval for much so to enter a juried event is making me feel like the last one on the kick ball field waiting to be picked for the team ~ Yikes waiting for Ouch ~ I took the sunrise picture as I entered into my days work of booth set up and now realize seeing them side by side it may have influenced my need for color that morning ~ tick tock I will keep you posted on my chances of being a team player as I Dwell in possibility............................

Redecking the halls.........

I have done some rearranging this week at the shop - it took an entire day to clean up all the Xmas hooplah and I now realize the fabulous fake glittery snow that seemed like such a great idea 8 weeks ago will forever be remembered in the cracks of the new wood floor OOPS but in my defense it was REALLY sparlky and thats all that matters.......Best wishes for a sparkly new year! 2010

Sometimes life gets in the way........

Sometimes life gets in the way of your original plan...............Whew wow it has been a whopper of a month and Im ready to move forward - I am thrilled with the shop and our new shiny fab wood floors - I had to shut down for what turned into a week to get everything moved out ~ install the floors ~ move everything back in which throws me into my uber issue with everything being EXACTLY where I want it right now ~ muuuuuuch easier said than done but after a week or so of shuffling its pretty much back in shape - we have added some REALLY fantastic new items since the remodel as well - these blue velvet couches are just over the top fabulous ~ cushy comfy, painted wood trim and tufted backs ~ loveseat $450 and sofa $575 ~ In addition there is a perfect custom slipcovered in linen chaise lounge in the window to lure my buyers in just for a gander $385 as well as several paintings, gifts, candles and unique finds for everyone ~ come on by and say Hi ~ discount to anyone that mentions the blog :)~ thanks for all your support thru the process................
